About This Course
ABOUT THIS COURSE: AI Applied: Quality, building an audit-defensible 8D and CAPA assistant OVERVIEW Quality work includes repetitive, text-heavy tasks such as 8D reports, CAPA documentation, complaint responses and audit preparation. AI can draft these well, but invented root causes can create serious problems. This practical course has participants build and test an 8D and CAPA assistant using their company-approved AI platform, with rules to prevent invented findings and provide clear provenance. Participants also develop a scoped automation opportunity and learn how to support and operationalise EU AI Act Article 4 obligations. The course does not certify compliance. TARGET AUDIENCE ● Quality engineers, inspectors and internal auditors ● Quality managers accountable for 8D closure time and audit findings ● Practitioners in automotive supply, die casting and comparable regulated manufacturing ● Practitioners through senior level, no prior AI experience assumed TRAINING CONTENT ● Defect to 8D to customer cycle, mapped end to end ● Quality tasks and KPIs: scrap and PPM, first pass yield, 8D closure time, audit non-conformities ● Traffic light sort: where AI drafts, assists under check, or a qualified human decides ● Prompting for inspection logs, trend reports and complaint handling ● Placeholder discipline and what never goes into a public tool ● Reading AI drafts as an auditor would ● Building the assistant: role and D0 to D8 structure ● Rules block: never invent a root cause, mark unproven as unproven ● Provenance footer and its purpose ● Testing on an anonymised defect case ● Spotting and correcting rule drift ● Screening recurring tasks for value, frequency, risk and feasibility ● Writing the automation opportunity one-pager ● Governance self-audit against 6 checks, with one gap fixed live ● Roll-out: prompt location, maintenance and version control ● EU AI Act Article 4: what the record claims and does not claim ASSESSMENT By artefact and audit rehearsal. The attestation requires an 80% pass on the retakeable safe use scenario check, a submitted automation opportunity one-pager, and a completed self-audit against all 6 governance checks.
